Featured Project Block

We’re excited about this one. It’s been a while since WordPress replaced the much beloved Classic Editor with the Block Editor (Gutenberg) and we’ve been biding our time to see how it developed. We think it’s coming along nicely!

As such, we are working on an update to the IgnitionDeck Crowdfunding plugin that adds two native javascript blocks that you can use to highlight your Crowdfunding Projects. These blocks get the most out of the new block editing experience allowing you to create more dynamic layouts a lot more easily. We believe these blocks are much more user-friendly than using the classic shortcodes functionality. That said, we are not removing shortcodes! You will still be able to use shortcodes when and where you want!

The Blocks

• Featured Project Block – This is a custom styleable block that allows you to highlight one project.
• Project Block Grid (coming soon) – This block allows you to easily display multiple blocks in a nice-looking grid layout. You’ll be able to filter by status and sort them how you want.
• Tell Us What IgnitionDeck Blocks YOU want to see. For those of you who are using the block editor, what blocks do you think make sense for IgnitionDeck? Let us know!

Beta Testers Wanted

If you’d like to beta test this new feature, please reply to this email and we’ll send you a beta version of the plugin to test. And a warning: Don’t use beta software on your production sites, only test on staging environments. Also, make sure you have a backup handy in case something blows up.
